Niagara Catholic District School Board to Host Annual Technology Skills Competition at Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls

Niagara Catholic District School Board (NCDSB) is proud to present the 17th Annual Technology Skills Competition that was held Wednesday, March 4th 2020 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The event featured over 300 student competitors from across Niagara Catholic’s eight secondary schools who competed in categories that includes: character animation, architectural design, aesthetics and hairstyling, auto service, cabinetry, carpentry, electrical installation, horticulture and landscaping, website development and many more. The competition saw local field professionals and experts as judges and the winners will advance to the Ontario Technological Skills Competition, May 2020. Gold medal winners will represent the province at the Skills Canada National Competition.
On Tuesday, March 10th Niagara Catholic honoured our 300 students competing in 27 categories with an Awards Ceremony that took place at the Seaway Mall, Centre Court in Welland. Joined by teachers, administrators, parents and the community, students heard from Aaron Tisdelle- President of Girotti Machine and Chair of the Niagara Industrial Association speak about passion, job opportunities in Niagara, networking and the enthusiasm and advantages that the next generation of workers have in Niagara and beyond.
