Niagara Catholic Technological Skills Competition 2018

NCDSB Skills

 

Niagara Catholic District School Board (NCDSB) is proud to present the 15th Annual Technology Skills Competition held Tuesday, March 6th (8:30am-3pm) and Wednesday, March 7th (9am-12pm) 2018 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

 

The event featured over 300 student competitors from across Niagara Catholic’s eight secondary schools who will compete in categories that include:  character animation, architectural design, aesthetics and hairstyling, auto service, cabinetry, carpentry, electrical installation, horticulture and landscaping, website development and many more.  The competition had local field professionals and experts as judges who advanced the winners to the Ontario Technological Skills Competition in May 2018.  Gold medal winners will represent the province at the Skills Canada National Competition.

 

This year’s event featured:

 

-          Main Competition and Career/ Info Fair with a NEW Industry Speaker Panel- Tuesday, March 6th (audience of 800-1000 students, parents, staff and admin)

 

-          Awards Ceremony- Wednesday, March 7th (audience of 200-300 students, parents, staff and admin).

 

The NCDSB competition would not be a success without the support of local community businesses and organizations.  We are once again proud to partner with:  Scotiabank Convention Centre, City of Niagara Falls, Niagara College, Brock University, Job Gym Niagara, Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, Fonthill Building Supply, Niagara Food Festival, Young’s Automotive, Linde Canada, DeWalt Canada, Ontario Construction Careers Alliance, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 303, Canadian Piping Trades Local 67, Labourers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) and numerous others who contribute their time and resources to benefit our students.
