Program Message
The Ontario Ministry of Education’s Career/Life Planning Program for Ontario Schools provides students with many different pathways to success. The goal of Creating Pathways to Success (CPS) is that students complete secondary school with a clear plan for their initial post-secondary destination: apprenticeship training, college, community living, university, vocation or the workplace. Ultimately, the program encourages students to become competent, successful and contributing members of society.
At all ages in the Career/Life Planning process, students discover their interests and skills and learn about opportunities in their community. Using the educational planning tools; Desire to Learn and Career Cruising, students in grades K-12 will create an Individual Pathways Plan (IPP) by setting goals, and exploring opportunities and programs that help them to make decisions. Every year, students will work to grow and refine their IPP so that they may continue to narrow the focus on what they want to achieve and how they plan to get there.
